The LiPo Amigo Pro is a compact-sized charger for LiPo or LiIon batteries that can also supply power to a connected device. At one end is a USB-C connector for attaching power, and at the other are 2 x JST-PH connectors, so you can charge your LiPo or LiIon battery and power your up to 4.2V tolerant device at the same time (and switch seamlessly between USB and battery power).

The board also features an on/off switch, a power LED and charging LED.

The circuit has been constructed using an MCP73831 advanced linear charge management controller. This IC has a very small footprint and delivers a consistent 200mA charging current. Additionally, the board also features inbuilt battery protection (XB6096I2S battery protector).

The pads on the back labelled FAST CHARGE can be bridged with solder to allow charging at up to 500mA (instead of the default 200mA). Don't do this if you're using an unprotected battery. There are other headers broken out that the user might find useful, the ones marked with an LED can be used to connect up an external LED to show charging or on/off status - useful if you're building your battery charger into an enclosure. The headers marked SW can be used to add an external on/off switch to LiPo Amigo Pro.
